Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 May 2026
These Terms explain how you may use Parsley, what you are responsible for, how App Store subscriptions work, and the limits that apply to an AI-assisted family calendar service.
Review first
Parsley helps draft calendar events and reminders, but you remain responsible for checking every date, time, location, child assignment and reminder before saving.
Parent managed
Child profiles are managed by a parent or guardian account. Children do not create Parsley accounts or accept these Terms themselves.
App Store billing
Paid plans, trials, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled through Apple's App Store and your Apple ID settings.
Personal family use
Parsley is designed for household family admin, not for schools, clinics, emergency services or professional record keeping.
1. Who these Terms are with
Parsley is operated by PDFMiner Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15538450. Parsley and Prism Labs are trading names of PDFMiner Ltd. In these Terms, "Parsley", "we", "us" and "our" mean PDFMiner Ltd.
These Terms govern your use of the Parsley iOS app, share extension, website at parsleyapp.co.uk, account, AI parsing features, calendar review flow, subscription features and support services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, accepting the Terms in the app, subscribing, importing content or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. App Store licence and Apple terms
If you download Parsley from Apple's App Store, the app itself is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless we provide a custom licence through App Store Connect. These Terms apply to the Parsley account, backend, website, subscriptions, AI parsing, calendar review and related services. If there is a direct conflict between Apple's app licence and these Terms, the Apple licence controls only for the app licence to the extent required by Apple or applicable law.
3. Who can use Parsley
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to create a Parsley account. Parsley is intended for parents and guardians using the Service for personal, household and family admin. It is not intended for use by children directly.
If you add child profiles, school details, appointment notes, medical reminders or other family information, you confirm that you have parental responsibility, guardian authority or another lawful basis to manage that information and submit it to the Service.
4. What Parsley does and does not do
Parsley helps convert school letters, screenshots, PDFs, pasted text, shared content, typed requests and voice transcripts into suggested calendar events, reminders, notes, child assignments, locations, recurrence patterns and conflict checks.
Parsley is an administrative tool. It is not a school communication system, medical device, professional advice service, safeguarding system, emergency service or guaranteed reminder service. You should always check important information against the original source, such as the school, nursery, club, healthcare provider, appointment letter or official notice.
5. Your account and security
- You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID, email account, devices and Parsley account access secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account unless the activity is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
- You should tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
- You must keep your account information reasonably accurate, including the email address used for support and account notices.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of the text, photos, screenshots, PDFs, voice transcripts, event details, child profile information and other content you submit to Parsley. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, copy, transmit, process, display, transform and store that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, troubleshoot and improve the reliability and safety of the Service, comply with law and enforce these Terms.
We do not claim ownership of your family content. We do not permit AI providers to use your family content to train their public models. More detail about how we process personal data is in our Privacy Policy.
7. AI output, calendar saving and reminders
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, out of date or misleading. Dates, times, time zones, child assignments, locations, recurrence rules, reminders and notes may be parsed incorrectly. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting every suggestion before saving it.
Parsley never guarantees that an event, reminder, notification or calendar sync will be created, delivered or remain available at a particular time. Calendar saving and notifications can depend on your device settings, permissions, network connection, Apple services, calendar provider behaviour, battery settings, time zone settings and whether you later edit or delete items outside Parsley.
If Parsley writes an approved event to your native calendar, that calendar item may remain in the calendar even if you delete the app, delete your Parsley account or stop using the Service. You may need to delete or edit native calendar items separately.
8. Subscriptions, credits and App Store billing
Some Parsley features are free. Paid plans unlock higher import allowances, additional child profiles, credit packs or other features shown in the app or on the App Store. The exact price, renewal period, trial, taxes and features are shown before you confirm a purchase.
Apple billing
Paid plans and credit packs, where offered, are purchased through Apple's App Store and billed to the Apple ID used for the purchase.
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or any other deadline shown by Apple at purchase.
Plan display
Prices, trial availability, plan names, import allowances, child profile limits and renewal periods are shown in the app or App Store before purchase and may vary by country, tax treatment and Apple storefront.
Allowances and credits
Free trials, promotional access, bonus credits and monthly import allowances may be limited, non-transferable and may expire or reset. Unused recurring allowances do not roll over unless we clearly say otherwise.
Cancellation
Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals. It does not automatically delete your Parsley account, and deleting your Parsley account does not cancel an active App Store subscription.
Refunds
Refund requests, billing disputes and payment issues are handled by Apple under Apple's App Store processes. If Apple issues a refund, reverses a purchase or reports a billing problem, we may adjust the related Parsley entitlement, allowance or credit balance.
9. Acceptable use
You agree that you will use Parsley lawfully and responsibly.
- Do not upload content unless you have the right and authority to use it with Parsley.
- Do not add another child's personal information unless you are their parent, guardian or otherwise authorised to manage that information.
- Do not use Parsley for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, harmful or infringing activity.
- Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, import limits, security controls, authentication, payment checks or abuse-prevention controls.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, overload or interfere with the app, website, backend, APIs or third-party services, except where the law gives you a right that cannot be restricted.
- Do not use Parsley to build a competing product, train an AI model, run automated bulk extraction or process data on behalf of a business without our written agreement.
10. Third-party services
Parsley relies on third-party services including Apple, Supabase, AI providers, hosting providers, analytics providers where enabled, error reporting tools where enabled, maps and device operating-system services. These services may change, have outages, impose limits or require their own terms. We are responsible for using reasonable care in how we choose and integrate providers, but we do not control every third-party platform dependency.
11. Changes to the Service
We may improve, change, suspend or retire features from time to time. We will try to give reasonable notice of material changes that negatively affect paid features during an active subscription period, unless the change is needed sooner for security, legal, App Store, provider, technical or abuse-prevention reasons.
We may update plan limits, prices, credits and features for future billing periods or future purchases. Any subscription price increase will be handled through Apple's App Store process where Apple requires notice or consent.
12. Service availability
We aim to keep Parsley reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted, error-free or always-available service. The Service may be unavailable because of maintenance, network problems, provider outages, abuse prevention, App Store issues, security events or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
13. Ending your account
- You may stop using Parsley at any time.
- You can delete your Parsley account from in-app Settings where available.
- Deleting your Parsley account does not cancel your App Store subscription. You must cancel subscriptions separately through your Apple ID settings.
- We may suspend or end access if you materially breach these Terms, create security or legal risk, misuse the Service, fail payment checks, or if we must do so to comply with law, Apple requirements or provider requirements.
- After account deletion or termination, data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy, including any legal, billing, security or audit records we are required or permitted to keep.
14. Intellectual property and feedback
The Parsley name, logo, product design, app, website, software, workflows, documentation and other materials are owned by PDFMiner Ltd or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property rights to you.
If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment to you. This does not affect your ownership of your family content.
15. Consumer rights and disclaimers
Nothing in these Terms affects legal rights you have as a consumer, including rights that apply to digital content or services supplied with reasonable care and skill. The Service is provided for ordinary personal family use. It is not guaranteed to identify every event, avoid every clash, find every address, preserve every calendar item, or send every reminder.
To the extent allowed by law, Parsley is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not make promises beyond what is expressly written in these Terms, shown in the app at purchase, required by Apple's App Store rules or required by applicable law.
16. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- your statutory rights as a consumer;
- liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious that it would happen or if, at the time you accepted these Terms, both you and we knew it might happen.
We are not responsible for losses caused by your failure to review AI suggestions, your device or calendar settings, your decision to rely on Parsley as the only source for important family obligations, third-party outages outside our reasonable control, or business losses such as lost profit, lost revenue, business interruption or loss of commercial opportunity.
Where liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of GBP 100 or the amount you paid for Parsley in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
17. Your responsibility for misuse
If your deliberate, unlawful or materially negligent misuse of Parsley causes a third-party claim, regulatory complaint, security incident, chargeback, provider penalty or other direct loss, you are responsible for the reasonable losses, costs and expenses that result, except to the extent caused by our own breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or another country with mandatory consumer protections, you keep any mandatory rights and local court rights that apply to you.
Please contact us first if something goes wrong so we can try to resolve it. You can also use any consumer dispute, regulator, App Store or court process that applies by law.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service, law, App Store requirements, provider requirements or our business changes. We will update the "Last updated" date and, where the change is material, give notice in the app, by email or on the website where reasonable. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using Parsley and cancel any active subscription through Apple.
20. General
If part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your Parsley account or these Terms to someone else without our consent. We may transfer our rights and obligations if we reorganise, sell or transfer the Service, provided this does not reduce your consumer rights.
